Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach

Very very helpful staff, stunning location a short walk from the beach. Stocked and a nice size room with a safe, a mini-bar, and central heating.

Decent sized and well stocked room plus with a spa tub. Had excellent a flat-screen TV with cable channels, climate control and an individual safe.

Beds were bad.

Romantic hotel, stunning location to the resort on the other side of the peninsula and with incredible views. Well-kept rooms, attentive staff from the valet to the front desk clerks. Nice bathroom and Jacuzzis with good sewerage.

I loved the quality of the bedding and attention to detail for the guest's comfort. The location was excellent. Although we were visiting family in Manhattan Beach, we would definitely return for business as well as pleasure. The lunch specials were very good and being offered a spa discount as a Shade guest was a bonus.

Superb location, walking distance to beach. Very unusual and cool room with bath tub next to bed and led lighting. Kind of the hippest Motel 6 you could imagine. Because layout is more like motel than hotel.

Super expensive $20 valet only parking.

Brilliant location; gorgeous room; personable, friendly not pretensious staff (nothing we asked for was too hard), loved the bikes, pool area was relaxing. Also loved the Molton Brown toiletries in the room. Breakfast was just the right amount of food and delicious...so was the bar food...YUM..mini burgers! Strongly recommend the area and hotel to our friends. So close to airport - $20US in a cab (excluding tip). Terrific!

Location, room amenities

Expensive, no complimentary waters in rooms or glasses (must be requested from front desk), couldn't get logged onto the wireless internet network in the hotel, loud party til 2:30 a.m.

The hotel is rather for a young couple, not for a mature couple like us who is looking for tranquility. I usually rely on the rating and guests' comments on Booked.net to book a hotel, but I could not "catch" that, reading through them! The lobby/bar has two TV screens which shows succor games all the time, which gives "popular" atmosphere in the lobby.

The room was relaxing and comfortable. It was perfect for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary.

The price was a bit much for what it offered but I was willing to pay becuase of the location and it was a nice place to stay at.

The location was perfect for soaking up the sun at the beach and enjoying the amazing surf scene. Don't miss cycling along the Strand or checking out the local shops nearby. The rooms were spacious and the staff super friendly. Highly recommend the rooftop pool after a day out.

The only downside was the exterior look of the hotel. It didn't impress at first, but once inside, it was all good.

Super convenient location, just a few blocks from the beach. Room had great amenities like air conditioning, a tv, and a private bathroom. Staff was super friendly and made everything easy. The spa facilities were nice too.

The location is perfect, just steps away from the beach. My beautiful king spa room was beautifully remodeled, stylish, and super comfy. Especially chelsea, were so friendly and helpful. I loved the beach cruisers available for a fun ride along the coast!
